McNally Robinson celebrated the CBC Canada Reads competition with its own on Thursday, February 28th. Ron Robinson mediated between Morley Walker, Anita Daher, Jem Rolls, Lesley Hughes and Kathy Strub, each defending a book from the list. They were a dynamic bunch who offered laughs, biting remarks, insults, insight and entertainment while they discussed Canadian literature.

Last night Mcnally Robinson broke new ground by introducing its very first Opera Club. The evening's events were hosted by June Slobodian of Valhalla Opera Tours. June offered a presentation on Macbeth, the Shakespearen play, but more fittingly, the opera by Verdi.

Nick DiChario has successfully ushered in a new type of event at our Grant Park Location in Winnipeg. The Workshop Series will take place Saturday mornings at 10:30am and will give new writers the opportunity to gain advice from published writers, and perhaps even work directly with them. Come with a notepad in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other.
