What makes a good health book? The answer can essentially be reduced to one word - information. A good health book should give the reader information about the illness being discussed, about how it is diagnosed and the possible treatments, drugs and their side effects, then present a decent glossary, index and list of community resources. However, there is a caveat to all this - the information must be presented in such a way to be understandable to the general public, but not too simplistic to miss important details.

Further tests will likely be necessary to confirm suspicions, but the starting point of all diagnosis is a hands on assessment of the patient, along with a history of when the symptoms started, what makes them worse, better, and so on.
