We All Fall Down by Eric Walters

It's been seven years since I saw those passenger planes crash into the World Trade Center in New York on my television set. September 11 2001 is a day many people will never understand or forget.

We All Fall Down puts the reader on the 85th floor with fifteen-year-old Will and his father at the moment the planes hit.

This riveting and award-winning novel is not about terrorism or religious differences or even political agendas. It is a novel of compassion and of unanswerable questions. I was hesitant to pick it up at first; it is now one of my favourites. We All Fall Down will remain with you long after you read its final inevitable chapter.

This novel was the Manitoba Young Readers' Choice for 2008. MYRCA aims to promote reading and Canadian literature by giving young people the opportunity to vote for their favourite Canadian book from an annual preselected list. The books are nominated based on their quality and reader appeal. Eric Walters' novel Sketches is a 2009 nominee. Please see our Winnipeg stores for the complete 2009 MYRCA shortlist.
