On the run? Looking for a small town to finally fit in, make some friends, maybe score a football player boyfriend? Welcome to Maplecrest, where people are just dying to get in.

Hannah Sanders is the reluctant new girl at Maplecrest High. She initially makes an unwanted alliance with Lukas, an unpopular castaway who delivers a cryptic warning about being a newcomer to the town, the school and the cheerleading squad. Desperate to fit in, Hannah still feels the magnetic pull of the elusive ethereal blondes known as the Death Squad. Their command and presence over teachers and students alike is dominating and definitive; school spirit is not extra-curricular, it's mandatory. Hannah's decisions about her new friends, clothes, hair and even her name hurtle her into a life-or-death situation that forces her to take action against the Death Squad and the entire town of Maplecrest.

Did I mention the town residents are zombies? All of them. They feed on blood to keep them beautiful, strong and in control. Maplecrest is the perfect town. Ridiculous? Try out for the squad - I dare you.
