The winners of the 2007 Cybils Awards (The Children's and YA Bloggers' Literary Awards) were announced on Thursday, February 14th. The Cybils are the only online literary awards. To win, books must combine both literary merit and kid or young adult appeal.
Here's how it all works (courtesy of the Cybils Home Page):
"Anyone with an e-mail address may nominate one book per category. Then groups of bloggers get to work. First, a nominating committee reads ALL the titles in a given category. After nearly two arduous months, this committee winnows the nominees to five finalists. A second committee of bloggers considers the shortlist and, after much debate, chooses the best of the best for 2007."
Full information about all the winning titles can be found here here.
