"Is it not good to make society full of beautiful people?" Tally Youngblood thinks so, and can hardly wait for her 16th birthday to become "pretty".
In an attempt to right the wrongs of the past, the government in Uglies physically alters young people so no one is judged on their appearance. This dystopian view of our future is both fascinating and frightening. I loved the combination of both and am looking forward to the next titles in this series for teens: Pretties, Specials and Extras.
