Join Jack and Annie on their adventures in The Magic Tree House. This series of first chapter books is both exciting and educational for children ages 6 and up.
In Dinosaurs Before Dark, the first book in the series, Annie and Jack are taking a walk in the forest and come upon a treehouse. They decide together to climb the ladder to the treehouse, and find it to be filled with a large selection of books. Jack picks up a book about dinosaurs and wishes he were in the land of dinosaurs. The treehouse spins and they find themselves in the time of the dinosaurs. Annie is always running ahead of older brother Jack and he must catch up to save her from trouble. This book is well written and great for a child's first introduction into an adventure novel. This series should be read in order to follow the adventures and other plots that are established in each book. I recommend this book for ages 6 and up.
