Ivy and Bean and the Ghost that Had to Go by Annie Barrows

Ivy and Bean are hilarious. Ivy and Bean are spunky. Ivy and Bean are forever getting into (and out of) trouble.

In the second volume of this wonderful new chapter book series, Ivy and Bean deal with a moaning ghost, swimming dinosaurs, and the signing of a spit oath (kind of like a blood oath, but far less likely to attract vampire bats). Annie Barrows keeps the language clear without sacrificing wit and subtlety, and Sophie Blackall's expressive illustrations are a delight. I couldn't help but fall in love with this spunky twosome, and I'm confident that both kids and parents will embrace them as well.

For ages 6-9.
