It's only natural that we'll be hearing a whole lot about the Harry Potter industry for the next couple of months. The latest buzz is surrounding the future of Bloomsbury, the Potter series' home publisher. Both the Sunday Herald and the Guardian have stories about it. Apparently, in the non-Potter release year of 2006, the publisher's profits fell 74%. And as is his unique ability, George at bookninja sums it all up nicely with a bit of snark.
In other internet Potter-mania, Galleycat makes brief comment on the strict guidelines Scholastic and U.S. distributer Baker & Tayler are putting on librarians who may receive the book a little early. Canadian restrictions are similar.
