Jill Barber. Metaphora. CD $16.99. RRC Price $15.29. Limited Edition Vinyl $26.99. RRC Price $24.29. The solo follow-up to 2014's Fool's Gold finds the singer-songwriter embracing danceable contemporary pop sounds to address topics like "empowerment, sexual politics, the complications of love and depression." Employing her ability to conjure a bygone era with smoky vocals and dreamy lyrics, the two-time Juno Award nominee draws inspiration for her music from many genres including pop, folk, jazz and French chansons. (Universal. February)

KUNÉ Canada's Global Orchestra. KUNÉ. CD $13.99. RRC Price $12.59. The Royal Conservatory of Music created the KUNÉ ensemble as a celebration of our country’s cultural diversity. The ensemble came together in December 2016, and under the Artistic Direction of David Buchbinder, began the journey to create a band that looks and sounds like Canada today.
