Andres Miedoso just moved in with his parents to his new house in Kersville when his new neighbors garage door opened. The boy that came out introduced himself as Desmond Cole. Desmond gave Andres a card that said ‘’Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol’’. Later that day Desmond came over to Andres’s new house. The boys played for a bit and when it was time to leave, Desmond licked his finger, stuck it in the air, and then he turned pale and said ‘’If you see anything call me’’. Once Desmond left, Andres decided to try it for himself. Andres licked his finger and sticks it in the air. Suddenly he felt freezing air moving around his finger and when he put his finger back down it was freezing cold. Andres called Desmond and a minute later Desmond was at Andres’s house with two weird gadgets. He used one of them to track the ghost and other one to see the ghost. After a while the tracking gadget started beeping. Desmond put on the goggles and started talking to the ghost and the ghost started talking back. The ghost said he had nowhere else to go and so living in this house. Andres felt bad and made an offer to the ghost. Meet Desmond Cole! A fearless eight-year-old who runs his own ghost patrol, looking for ghosts, monsters, and mischief makers everywhere. Oh, and he just so happens to be my new best friend...and thank goodness! Because I'm afraid of everything.

Welcome to Kersville, a town with a spooky history and a collection of ghosts and spirits who are major mischief-makers. Most kids spend their days without ever seeing or dealing with a ghost, but some kids get stuck with a haunt. When that happens, they call Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol. Desmond is the hall monitor of ghosts and monsters. There's no job too spooky, icky, or risky for Desmond.

I'm not like that at all. My name's Andres Miedoso. I'm Desmond's best friend. We do everything together...including catch ghosts. Seems cool, right? There's only one problem: I'm afraid of everything.

With easy-to-read language and illustrations on almost every page, the Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol chapter books are perfect for emerging readers.
