Crash by Eve Silver (from a Two Thumbs Up reviewer)

Tuesday, Jun 09, 2015 at 4:15pm

You always have a choice.

I won Rush, the first book in the series, in spring 2014. I didn't have a chance to read it until the September after, and then I couldn't put it down. Immediately after, I RUSHed (pun intended) to the library to pick up Push, the second book in the series. Though I didn't enjoy the second book as much as I did the first, I was still looking forward to Crash.

Crash was a slow read for me. While I went through it like a breeze, the story itself was going nowhere. The book constantly feels like I am being pulled back and forth between "The Game" and the major occurrence which happened at the end of the second book. Because Eve Silver didn't even do anything with the two events, the story felt like it went nowhere. This book also introduced a bunch of new things that I felt were unnecessary to the plot. It felt like Silver didn't even have an idea of where the storyline should go, so she just threw some things together. Not to mention how the series ending didn't make much sense at all and could be seen as confusing.

The storyline may not have been for me, but Silver sure does have a nice writing style. I'm not sure if I would have finished the book otherwise. Rush held a lot of potential, even if the rest of the series didn't. Although I didn't enjoy the series overall, I'm still glad I read Crash.
