During the month of September, Saskatchewan readers will have the chance to vote for their favourite new Saskatchewan book for the inaugural Readers' Choice Award, sponsored by the Regina Public Library. The book that receives the most votes will be awarded the new Readers’ Choice Award at the Saskatchewan Book Awards Gala in November, and the author will receive a $2,000 cash prize.

The book Saskatchewan readers favour will be determined through the ballots they cast between September 4 - 30. Ballots are available at any participating Saskatchewan Public Library or online at www.reginalibrary.cawww.reginalibrary.ca.

2007 marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Saskatchewan Book Awards recognizing and celebrating excellence in Saskatchewan writing and publishing. The shortlist of books nominated for each of the thirteen categories, such as Fiction, Poetry, Children’s Literature, Scholarly and Nonfiction as well as the new Readers’ Choice Award, will be announced at simultaneous News Conferences in Regina and Saskatoon on October 18. The awards will be presented on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Saskatchewan Book Awards Gala to be held at Regina’s Conexus Arts Centre.
