It's not easy encouraging kids, especially city kids, to be interested in nature. I know - I have two of 'em (city kids, that is). But Lark Books' My Favorite Nature Books may be just the ticket.
There are four books in the nature series: Volcanoes of the World, Animals on the Farm, Animals in Their Homes and Stars and Planets. The artwork is fun and friendly and the text is informative without being too detailed.
My favourite part of the My Favorite Nature Book series is the pocket on the left side of each book. Open it up and find posters, maps, puzzles, stickers, and even a flipbook to create, showing how a volcano erupts. Cool. Fun. Even educational! For ages 6 and up.
