The 2010 Prairie Fire McNally Robinson Booksellers Writing Contest. by D - Tuesday, Aug 31, 2010 at 12:20pm McNally Robinson Booksellers is proud to be a sponsor of the 2010 Prairie Fire McNally Robinson Booksellers Writing Contest.
Three contests, $6,000 in cash prizes and a chance to publish with one of the best.
1. The Banff Centre Bliss Carman Poetry Award Contest: one to three poems per entry, maximum 150 lines. Judge: Christian Bök.
2. The Short Fiction Contest: one story per entry, maximum 10,000 words. Judge: Joan Thomas.
3. The Creative Non-Fiction Contest: one article per entry, maximum 5,000 words. Judge: Hal Niedzviecki.
First prize in each category is $1,250; second prize $500; and third prize $250. In addition, the first prize winner of the poetry contest will receive a jeweller-cast replica of Bliss Carman's silver and turquoise ring donated by the Banff Centre for the Arts.
