On Thursday evening, April 22nd,in the Travel Alcove of McNally Robinson Booksellers Grant Park we celebrated our winning authors of the Grade 5/6 Writing Contest. The top 3 winning entries, as well as the 2 honourable mention entries, read their submissions aloud to an appreciative, and enthusiastic audience of friends and family members.
The writing was excellent, as it has been each year since we have held this contest. This year's authors however, were among the best presenters we have seen. All 5 young ladies read their stories with expression and authority, and the audience loved it!
We ended the evening with the presentation of a classroom set of novels written by our author/judge ,to the winner's teacher and the presentation of individual McNally Robinson gift cards to the 5 authors.
Refreshments from our Prairie Ink Restaurant and best-wishes to all were offered to finish the evening on a happy note!
