Why you should be reading Ranger's Apprentice by Spencer Josef Estabrooks - Thursday, Aug 13, 2009 at 2:08pm

August 4th brings us the release of The Siege of Macindaw, the 6th book in John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice series. As a big fan of the series, I thought I'd mark the occasion with a list of 6 reasons you should read the series.

    1. You finished Percy Jackson and need an adventure fix.
    2. You like your action well-described and often.
    3. You like characters who actually grow and change.
    4. You love medieval history, but wish you didn't already know how it ended.
    5. You want tips on archery, sword fighting, or how to sneak up on people.
    6. You're not quite sure what a ranger is. Hint: Cross Robin Hood with Batman and you're halfway there.
