

Recently, a number of Science Fiction/Fantasy Awards have been presented. The Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award, for fiction "of unusual originality deserving of renewed attention" went to . The announcement was made at Readercon in Boston. Merrit's work is widely believed to be an inspiration for the hit television show, Lost.
