Discworld Creeps a Little Closer to Earth by Chadwick Ginther - Tuesday, Apr 07, 2009 at 2:39pm

Sir Terry Pratchett, author of the bestselling Discworld series, was on hand in Wincanton, Somerset to unveil the street names inspired by his novels. Wincanton's link to Pratchett's fictional universe began in 2002 when the town was officially twinned with Ankh-Morpork, a Discworld city. Residents were asked to vote for their favourite road names from a list of fourteen provided by the author. Pratchett quipped: "Personally, I'd pay good money to live somewhere called Treacle Mine Road."
