McNally Robinson Booksellers is pleased to support Winnipeg's arts and cultural communities by selling tickets for performing arts groups.
1. Your contact person regarding ticket sales is
Barb King at the Grant Park McNally Robinson Booksellers. Barb may be reached
by telephone at 453-0424 ext. 250 or by email at barbk@grant.mcnallyrobinson.ca. Barb’s normal work hours are Monday to
Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (My summer hours are generally Tues-thru Thursday
only. David Lawrence the store manager is in Tuesday thru Saturdays).
2. McNally Robinson Booksellers does not charge a
service fee to sell your tickets. However, when customers purchase your tickets
with a credit card, we will need to charge a $1.00 processing fee to cover our
expenses. If the customer purchases the tickets with a debit card or cash, there
is no processing fee.
3. McNally Robinson Booksellers does not collect
and remit GST on behalf of other groups. We charge what you tell us the ticket
price is, and if you have to remit GST as an organization, then it is up to you
to remit that GST on your own behalf, out of the funds we have collected for
you. For example, if your organization is required to remit GST, and your
ticket price is $10.00, your ticket price should read on the ticket $10.60.
That $10.60 is the straight amount that we will collect and remit to you. We
will not process it as a separate $10.00 charge with .60 GST added at the cash
till.
4. If you are coming to drop tickets off at a time
when Barb is not likely to be in the store (for example, evenings and
weekends), then please call ahead to advise Barb you would like us to sell your
tickets. This gives Barb the opportunity to speak with you about the necessary information
required for us to sell your tickets. Then you can drop the tickets off at the
store, to Barb’s attention, at any time. We need to know:
a) date of the event
b) the name of the event
(how customers will describe/name the event)
c) who the payee is (We do
not hand over cash to anyone for reimbursement of the tickets. All ticket sales
are remitted to the respective arts organization with a cheque at some point
after the event is over, usually at the end of the month in which your event is
held. Cheques are usually mailed.)
d) the mailing address
(for receipt of the cheque)
e) the name and telephone
number (or email address) of the contact person in your organization regarding
the ticket sales
f) the price of the
tickets and if there are different sales categories (adult, senior, student).
If there are different dates and/or age categories for the same event, we do
ask that the tickets be clearly differentiated, usually by colour. This greatly
diminishes confusion at the sales desk.
5. If you have a poster you would like us to place on our foyer community bulletin board we would be happy to do this for you, however, please remember that this is an area in high demand and this may not always be possible. We will only need one poster. It is also possible to distribute handbills in the Grant Park foyer. Posters and handbills should also be given to Barb King.
