John Einarson is a widely-respected Canadian rock music historian and writer. He is the author of more than a dozen biographies including Randy Bachman, Neil Young, the Guess Who, John Kay/Steppenwolf, The Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers and Buffalo Springfield. His latest book is Four Strong Winds: Ian & Sylvia. He has also documented Winnipeg and Manitoba music history. John received an ARSC (Association for Recorded Sound Collections) Award for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound Research. He has written for Mojo, Uncut, Classic Rock, Goldmine, Discoveries, is a frequent contributor to the Winnipeg Free Press and has written for television and radio, hosting his own CBC radio series. He wrote the Juno-nominated Bravo TV documentary Buffy Sainte-Marie: A Multimedia Life and served as consultant for A&E/Biography Channel’s Neil Young Biography episode. John curated the highly successful “Shakin’ All Over: The Manitoba Music Experience” multi-media exhibit at the Manitoba Museum in 2010 and recently hosted the first ever Winnipeg rock ‘n’ roll history tour.
