Educator and author, Celia Baron, has devoted her career to helping students develop a deep appreciation for Mathematics. She holds an MSc degree in Mathematics as well as a M.Ed. in Mathematics Education from the University of Manitoba, She has taught Mathematics at all grade levels and written curriculum materials for Manitoba Education and Training. Throughout her career, Celia Baron has used puzzles and games as a way to engage students and teachers, and has published more than 200 puzzles for Math Power Magazine and Puzzlemania Magazine. In response to the needs of the students she tutors, she has authored a series on helping children master the basic math facts. The series is titled Thinking Strategies: Building Mastery of the Basic Facts. She has also authored the Cross-Number Discovery Puzzles series. This series consists of six resources from pre-kindergarten to Grade 4 and addresses the outcomes all children must meet as they develop their concept of early number.
