In October, 31 teen authors will be participating in online, interactive chats with fans as part of Readergirlz and YALSA's "31 Flavorites" event. Participating authors include Stephenie Meyer (of Twilight fame), John Green (author of the fantastic Looking for Alaska), Meg Cabot (author of too many books to even begin to mention) and many, many more. Two more significant authors have decided to join the monthly comic fray. Joe Hill, author of Heart Shaped Box, and Cory Doctorow author of Down And Out in the Magic Kingdom, have independently signed deals that will see them adapt a short story to the comic medium.

Music icon Neil Young, will be bringing his ambitious concept piece Greendale to DC Comics Vertigo imprint. According to Vertigo editor Karen Berger, Young himself approached the comic company. A comic fan,Young has been closely following the rise in popularity of the graphic novel medium.
