The movie trailer for Meg Rosoff's incredible award-winning novel, How I Live Now, is now live. While showcasing a few creative differences, this looks like quite a promising adaptation.
Fifteen-year-old Daisy is sent from Manhattan to England to visit her aunt and cousins she's never met. Her aunt goes away on business soon after Daisy arrives and the next day, bombs go off as London is attacked and occupied by an unnamed enemy. Despite the war, the farm becomes a kind of Eden, with no adults in charge and no rules. But the war is everywhere, and Daisy and her cousins must lead each other into a world that is unknown in the scariest, most elemental way.
How I Live Now will hit UK theatres in October with a North American release date to be announced.Categories: buzz, movies

Yesterday, it finally happened - the day we've all been waiting for. The Hunger Games, the first theatrical instalment ofbest-selling trilogy, is now playing at a theatre near you.
The Hunger Games is one of those books that grabs you by the collar and won't let you go until you reach the end (I spent most of an afternoon in my pyjamas in my bed, unwilling to get dressed because I NEEDED to know how it ended; see my original review here). Yes, it's violent - and Collins has few qualms killing off characters - but what is so important about these novels is that they deal with the consequences of this violence - and the consequences of the things you do in order to survive.
I've been selling this series since it first came out, and I'm thrilled that it's become so big.
I leave you with the trailer:
