First of all, I am terribly excited to announce that the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy has a release date! Mark your calendars for August 24, when you'll finally be able to find out exactly what happens after Catching Fire's cliffhanger ending.

The Attolia series by Megan Whalen Turner has not been reviewed on this website yet, but that does not mean that the books are not awesome. These books are perfect for intermediate readers, teens and even adults. At least I fit into the "adult" category, and I enjoy the series even more every time I reread them - which is as often as I can. I had never been sure if there were going to be more after the first three, so I'm excited to announce that the fourth book, A Conspiracy of Kings, is set to come out on March 23, 2010!

Canadian Library Association Announces the 2009 Young Adult Book Award Shortlist by Lynn Popham - Thursday, Mar 12, 2009 at 10:38am

The Young Adult Services Interest Group of the Canadian Library Association announced the shortlist for the 2009 Young Adult Book Award.

This award recognizes an author of an outstanding English-language Canadian work of fiction (novel, collection of short stories or graphic novel), published in 2008, that appeals to young adults between the ages of 13 and 18.

Martha Brooks Wins Vicky Metcalf Award by Lynn Popham - Thursday, Apr 03, 2008 at 11:19am

Winnipeg writer Martha Brooks has won the Vicky Metcalf Award. The $15,000 national literary award honours Martha's entire body of work. The award was presented on Tuesday night in Toronto.

X men Get Manga Treatment by Chadwick Ginther - Wednesday, Dec 12, 2007 at 10:47am

Marvel Comics in partnership with Del Rey Books, will be releasing original English language Manga titles featuring Wolverine and the X-Men.

The books are expected to have a 2009 release, and will not be a part of the regular X-Men continuity. According to the press release, the stories will have familiar elements, but will take the characters in radical new directions.
