David Gilmour will be at our Grant Park location in Winnipeg on October 9 to read from and sign his new book, The Film Club. The book, deals with Gilmour's decision to allow his son to quit school on the condition that they watch three films together per week of the paterfamilias's choosing.

Thomas Allen and Sons, the book's publisher, has kindly provided us with a video clip of David and his son, Jesse, discussing the book.

Choice quote from Jesse Gilmour on the origin of the book:

"After his last novel was published, he expressed that his idea for the next novel would be about what happens when you break up with a woman. [...] I said that I kind of think that's what all your novels have been about."

See the video after the jump.
