

The Prix Aurora Awards, Canada's highest honour in the field of speculative fiction, are now accepting nominations for all categories. To nominate, you must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident. The ballot will remain open until February 15th. You can find a partial list of eligible titles here for works in English, and here for works in French.
Some eligible titles that have been reviewed by McNally Robinson include: Indigo Springs by , Warden of Greyrock by , The King's Daughters by , Wake by , Steel Whispers by , and The World More Full of Weeping by .

This year, Winnipeg's annual science fiction and fantasy convention, Keycon will be hosting the Aurora Awards.

Congratulations to Winnipeg's , whose debut novel The Gargoyle has won the 2009 Sunburst Award in the adult category. The Sunburst has also recently begun to honour books for young adults. This year the award went to 's Little Brother.
The Sunburst Award is named after a novel by . Gotlieb, who passed away earlier this year, was among the first Canadian authors to publish in the speculative fiction field.
