If you're from somewhere other than Manitoba or Ontario, snap a picture of YOU holding a Mary's Atlas books in front of a landmark that you think should appear in an upcoming Mary's Atlas story. I'd love to see what makes your province or state unique!

If you're a Percy Jackson fan, you've probably heard that the first book in new series The Kane Chronicles, The Red Pyramid, is coming out today, Tuesday, May 4 - and if you're anything like us at the bookstore, you can't wait to read it either! Instead of featuring Greek mythology, this series is about Egyptian gods and goddesses. It all starts when Carter and Sadie Kane's father blows up the British museum...

Maybe Hollywood is getting lazy, or maybe they're finally realizing how awesome kids' books are (it's probably the latter. We're biased). In any case, there have been a lot of books for kids that have been made into movies lately - and there are even more coming out soon. Here at McNally Robinson, we think that the books are usually better than the movies. What do you think?

, prolific novelist, biographer, and magician, passed away last week, the day after his 90th birthday.
In addition to scores of charming and peculiar novels, including the Newbery Award-winning book The Whipping Boy, Fleischman had written fantastic biographies of Harry Houdini and Mark Twain. Before his death, he completed Sir Charlie, a biography of Charlie Chaplin, which is set to release June 1, 2010.
