Kids Summer Reading Club 2015

Starting June 24th, our annual Kids Summer Reading Club will be back in full swing and will run up until September 4th.

The Summer Reading Club is a reading reward program for independent readers and the rules are super simple:
Read three books and pick a prize from our fabulous treasure chest.
Read six books and get a free book (under $10)!

Please register at the Kid's Info Desk on the Mezzanine to receive your reading club cards and get ready for a rewarding summer of reading fun!

VOYAGES - Winnipeg Writing Contest Gala

Congratulations to all the winners of this year's grade 5/6 writing contest!

Tons of fun was had by all at our awards gala last night, where we heard all the winning stories read aloud. Winners took home prizes donated by Scholastic Canada.

Thanks again to all who participated in our Grade 5/6 Writing Contest. You made it our most successful yet! See you next year!

2015 MYRCA Winners and Annoucements

The 2015 winners of the Manitoba Young Readers' Choice Award Inc. (MYRCA) have officially been announced. Congratulations to David Carroll for his 2015 MYRCA winner, Ultra!

And congratulations to the two runners up:

Loki's Wolves by K.L. Armstrong and M.A. Marr

The Manitoba Young Readers' Choice Awards Inc. aims to promote reading and Canadian literature by giving young people the opportunity to vote for their favourite Canadian book from an annual pre-selected list. The books are nominated based on their quality and reader appeal. All young people in grades 5-8 who have read or heard read at least 5 titles from the list can vote.
