You can now find our board books, pop-ups and books for nursery and toddler-aged children in our newly-christened McNally Robinson for Babies "store within a store". We have become your one stop shop for baby books and toys, teddy bears and clothing. McNally Robinson for Babies has joined Pregnancy, Childcare, Parenting and Growing Up on the main floor. Peek through the louvred blinds of Prairie Ink Restaurant at Grant Park - but watch out for cobwebs, they're sticky!
The restaurant was full of tiny skeletons, butterflies, and several storybook characters this past Sunday morning as McNally Robinson hosted its annual Boo Brunch. Even the tiniest trick-or-treater was in costume as this happy gang listened to (and provided the sound effects for) storyteller Kim as she weaved a tale of a witch who can't separate her pumpkin from its vine. She enlists the help of a ghost, a monster, a bat, and other not-so-scary friends to help her free that big, fat, round pumpkin so it can be carved up for Halloween.
Along with a delicious menu of creepy crepes, fresh fruit, and worms and dirt (chocolate pudding), the costumed guests paraded around the store in order to scare away the ghosts and goblins that may be lurking about. Pumpkin carving rounded out the morning event and everyone went home ready to enjoy a funtastic Halloween!
We have a wonderful selection of Halloween books for all types of scary and sweet friends - click on the icon for a tasty sampling.
