You (yes, you) can help pick what Robert Munsch is going to write about next! Just go to the Scholastic website and choose your favourite storyline of the three. You can only vote once a day until October 30, but you can vote every day if you want. The book with the winning storyline, illustrated by Michael Marchenko, will be published in May of 2011. So what are you waiting for? Get out and vote!

McNally Robinson Booksellers and Scholastic Canada invite grade five and six students from Manitoba to submit an essay or story of between 500 and 800 words. The subject is animals, tame or wild. Birds, fish and crawly things are included.

Here's a trailer of Barbara Reid's new book, Perfect Snow. First-grader Scott and fourth-grader Jim have been daydreaming the morning away, making plans, doodling sketches of snowmen and snow forts, all in anticipation of recess and the endless possibilities of the perfect snow. Reid uses her signature Plasticine style and blends it for the first time with ink wash panels to create a unique mixed media masterpiece.
