Linda L. Richards' first novel featuring drunken private dick Dexter J. Theroux and plucky secretary Kitty Pangborn, Death Was the Other Woman, was one of my favourite novels of 2008. The follow up, Death Was in the Picture will without a doubt find itself in similar company for 2009. Linda was kind enough to agree to a brief email interview to answer some of my questions.

Aloha, Candy Hearts, the 6th book in Anthony Bidulka's award winning and wildly popular Russell Quant Mystery series hit shelves this month. Anthony kindly took time out of his busy writing and promotion schedule, he is launching Aloha, Candy Hearts on May 26 in Saskatoon and on June 1 in Winnipeg, in order to answer some email questions I had about his writing process, his series and Russell Quant himself.

In the Palace of Repose, Holly Phillips' first collection of short stories, saw her nominated for two World Fantasy Awards. As well, the book won the 2006 Sunburst Award, celebrating Canadian literature of the fantastic. Her second novel, The Engine's Child, is a delicious dark blend of science fiction and fantasy, faith and science, technology and magic. Holly was kind enough to take the time to answer some questions for our readers.

Anita Daher has lived all over Canada but now calls Winnipeg home. She has won the John Hirsch Award for Most Promising Manitoba Writer, and her novel Spider's Song is up for the McNally Robinson Book for Young People Award (Older Category). On April 29th, Anita will launch the latest book in her Junior Canadian Rangers series, On the Trail of the Bushman. Recently she was kind enough to answer some questions for our website.
