The judges of the World Fantasy Awards have released the shortlists for the 2010 awards. This year's nominees for best novel include:

• The Red Tree by Caitlín R. Kiernan

After pounding out numerous manuscripts over several years, I finally had one of my many stories published in an anthology, Evolve: Vampire Stories of the New Undead, and joined several other Canadian authors at the launch at the World Horror Convention in Brighton UK in March of this year. In my spare time I have been involved with a writer's workshop, a national book contest, and a few genre book reviews. I have managed to do some reading though.

Grave Sight$9.99 add to cart

Charlaine Harris, best known for her Sookie Stackhouse novels which form the basis for HBO's True Blood series, will be venturing into another medium. Dynamite Entertainment will be adapting her Harper Connelly books, starting with Grave Sight, into a comic series.
