Voting for the Aurora Awards is Now Open by D - Thursday, Aug 11, 2011 at 1:05pm

The Aurora Awards are Canada's National Science Fiction & Fantasy Awards. The voting is open to Canadian citizens and landed immigrants. You can cast your vote on the Aurora's website. This is the first year that Poetry and Graphic Novels have their own categories. Three of the nominated poets have agreed to let McNally Robinson hand out copies of their work. Robert J. Sawyer, Helen Marshall and Sandra Kasturi. The poems are available in our Science Fiction section.

Ezra Levant wins the Best Canadian Political Book of the Last 25 Years. by D - Tuesday, Aug 09, 2011 at 10:12am

The Writers' Trust of Canada, in collaboration with Samara, has named Ezra Levant's Shakedown: How Our Government is Undermining Democracy in the Name of Human Rights the Best Canadian Political Book of the Last 25 Years.

The Writers' Trust of Canada and Samara, a non-profit organization for citizen engagement in Canada's democratic system, held the contest to recognize books "that have captured the Canadian political imagination and contributed in a compelling and unique way to how Canadians understand a political issue, event, or personality."
