Warren Ellis is a madman. And I mean this in the best possible way. Private detective and weirdness magnet Michael McGill awakens to a huge brown rat urinating in his coffee mug. This is as good as his life will get for the majority of Crooked Little Vein's madcap narrative.

I got an advanced reading copy of In the Eye of Heaven in the winter of 2005. The buzz around the book was great, and as David Keck is a former Winnipegger, I was hoping for a good read. "Good read" turned out to be an understatement.
