New Wheel of Time Cover Released by Chadwick Ginther - Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 2:07pm

The cover image for The Gathering Storm, the twelfth volume of The Wheel of Time series, has been released by Tor Books. The Gathering Storm, which was to be the series finale, is now the first book in a final trilogy to be finished by author Brandon Sanderson (interviewed here) after Robert Jordan's death in 2007.

Tor has also recently announced a four-book deal with Sanderson, who will pen a new fantasy series called The Way of Kings. The advances for the new series are in the six figures, and with sales-related bonuses, could top out at 2.5 million.

Anthony kindly took time out of his busy writing and promotion schedule, he is launching Aloha, Candy Hearts on May 26 in Saskatoon and on June 1 in Winnipeg, in order to answer some email questions I had about his writing process, his series and Russell Quant himself.

Discworld Creeps a Little Closer to Earth by Chadwick Ginther - Monday, Apr 06, 2009 at 8:18pm

Sir Terry Pratchett, author of the bestselling Discworld series, was on hand in Wincanton, Somerset to unveil the street names inspired by his novels. Wincanton's link to Pratchett's fictional universe began in 2002 when the town was officially twinned with Ankh-Morpork, a Discworld city. Residents were asked to vote for their favourite road names from a list of fourteen provided by the author. Pratchett quipped: "Personally, I'd pay good money to live somewhere called Treacle Mine Road."
